Zip…and a book
Virtually nothing of interest is going on here. Sunday I got a flu shot (woo-hoo!) and then yesterday I do believe I had a mini-flu reaction–basically I was sick to my stomach, dizzy, and a little headachy. I’m better today, but my arm still hurts where the shot poked through, so I guess you could say I’m still in recovery.
I did spend yesterday reading though (why not take advantage after all) and must hype the book. It is The Explosionist by Jenny Davidson. Set in 1930’s Scotland, with the premise that Napolean was victorious at the Battle of Waterloo, the story explores the coming-of-age of a clever, self-possessed school girl savvy enough to use all resources available to her to solve a plethora of tangled-up mysteries. There’s brainwashing, a seance, a chase scene, eavesdropping, murder, and more. Fifty pages to the end, I’m very much enjoying it.

“I do belive I had a mini-flu reaction–basically I was sick to my stomach, dizzy, and a little headachy.”
I get that way when I look at my checking account balance.

That sons wonderful. I hate that flu-ish reaction. Could be why I don’t get the shot.

Eh, I hate shots. The idea of a needle poking into me gives me the heebie jeebies. But I have to go every year. My mom drags me to the doctor because people with asthma are high risk for the flu. But still *shudder*
On the bright side, I’m glad you got to spend recovery reading a good book. Sounds really interesting.

I’ve never gotten the flu shot. I’m always afraid I’ll get the flu from the shot.
