I’ll start…I like how the cover looks simultaniously modern and vintage, which goes very well with the theme of the book.  Okay, now your turn…

  1. It’s so eye catching, like on a shelf of books, this one will get noticed. I also adore the caption, it is my new life motto! Also congrats!

  2. Alyssa Goodnight

    Thank you, thank you, Sarakastic!!

  3. You almost feel like this is Jane Austen’s great-great-great granddaughter (yes, she’d have to have descended from a secret baby…but so what? :-)

Okay. For the sake of Jane’s rep, you could say she looks like Jane Austen, if JA time-traveled to present day.

    Congrats on a beautiful cover.

  4. The cover makes me want to read the book because I NEED to know what she is thinking about!

  5. Jo Anne Banker

It’s perfect! The image, the colors, the caption, the feel of it. All just perfect!! Congratulations.

  6. No need to enter me in the contest; just wanted to say: Congrats, Alyssa!!! The cover is lovely–like others have said, it’s intriguing bc/ we want to know what she’s so wistfully thinking about. Love the cool necklace, too!

  7. Congratulations, Alyssa!!!!
It’s a wonderful cover — her absorption in the Austen story she’s reading reminded me of all the times I’ve felt that way reading an amazing novel ;).

  8. Leslie Marshman

I love it, Alyssa. It looks like the book transported her worlds away. Congratulations on an amazing cover!

  9. Fantastic cover! I love it, Alyssa! Congratulaions!

  10. I love the feel of the cover. The look on her face combined with the old books draws you in. You want to know what’s going on so you’re compelled to discover the answer to the questions the cover raises.

    Gorgeous cover! Congratulations!

  11. Alyssa Goodnight

Perfect reaction, Tambra! 😉 Thank you!

  12. Oh, wow! I LOVE it! Absolutely gorgeous. Hard to pick my favorite part, but I’ll go with…the way part of the font is plain and part is italicized, to really emphasize it, but you can still read the title. Some books get so fancy, that you can’t read the titles at all.

  13. Alyssa Goodnight

I agree with you on the font, Caryn. Thanks! :)

  14. Wow, it’s lovely! Congratulations!

  15. Green Girl in Wisconsin

It’s an edgy woman with a BOOK! What’s not to love? And the title font is perfection.

  16. Lucy Sartain

Tambra conveyed beautifully my first impression of your cover. It’s great. And is it just me or does anyone else think the girl on the cover resembles Alyssa a bit? :)

    Can’t wait for the release!

    • Alyssa Goodnight

Hmmm…maybe I’ll dye my hair and spike it a bit for release day, Lucy. :) Thanks!

  17. You had me at “Austen”! Enchanting cover. Can’t wait!

  18. Alyssa Goodnight

    Thank you, MistyBee!

  19. Hello! Beautiful woman on the cover who reads. You got the nerd dollar locked up. Congratulations.

  20. Love the book cover. The young lady looks lost in thought…..makes you wonder what she is thinking about.
That she is on top of books it makes you wonder….is she a librian, a teacher, an avid reader, someone who gets lost in books, etc….

  21. Ooh, that is gorgeous! I love the colors and how striking the photograph is.

  22. I love the way the girl is hunched so awkwardly over the books like she’s trying to hide something or maybe protect the book. Did she write the book or is it just special to her? Great cover!

  23. Alyssa Goodnight

I love that it piques your curiosity, Katie!

  24. Hmm, that picture is vaguely reminiscent of a woman I knew a few years back. :)

  25. Congratulations, the cover looks great. She looks so drawn into the book.
